Best Of 2014: ‘YouTube Edition’


Over the course of 5 months, Sparx Entertainment has been able to see some great YouTubers take their time to entertain the vast pool of fans they cater to. From the likes of Victor Kim, The Fung Bros, D-Trix, and even Shimmy. All have provided the entire world with what we all share: Entertainment. Whether it be a few laugh, analyzation, or a short-film the enjoyment is all the same that can be appreciated. You can call it originality as these certain individuals have been able to captivate a fanbase (no matter the numbers) to come back for more.

So here’s our ‘YouTube Stars’ list of 2014 (in no particular order – Click on the images to connect to their channel):

ProtoMario (Video Games)

There’s a lot of speculations when it comes to video games’ storylines. Where did the character’s true origins come from? What’s to come in the future games? But more importantly the minor roles in video games serve a huge purpose to the story as, certain  characters have a deeper meaning to what they appear to be. Like ‘The Legend of Zelda’ the timeline causes a lot of speculation as to what happen in the blank points of the game. In the case of Pokemon a lot speculation can be done with the Pokemon that inhabit the world. Like, where did the Bulbasaur come from? Or are the Elite Four members a government officials? ProtoMario is one of many that have caught our interest in the extraction reviewing video games and poking holes in video games storied characters. Since January 4th, 2010, ProtoMario has dissected theories of Pokemon, Super Mario, Megaman. Made ‘Lets Play’ video for the average-experienced video gamers of Pokemon, The Walking Dead, and others. As well as, speak his rants on video games that could cause debate and given tips on technology. No matter what avenue he takes ProtoMario can still be provide some great content for many video gamers of the world.

theDominicshow (Dancer/Comedian)

Known by the name ‘D-Trix’ and appraised for his compelling dance skills, this unique personality knowns how to work a crowd with his humor. Sandoval was a contestant on the third season of So You Think You Can Dance and the winner, along with the rest Quest Crew, of the third season of America’s Best Dance Crew. After his win, he became a judge on ABDC for the 6th and 7th season. Soon after, he’d go on YouTube to showcase his talents with the likes of Ryan Higa, Victor Kim, and Wong Fu Productions. Sandoval starred as the villain in the 2011 35-minute-long film Agents of Secret Stuff by Wong Fu Productions. Two years later, he starred alongside Chris Brown in the 2013 film Battle of the Year, which was released on September 20. He also appeared in Alvin and the Chipmunks- The Squeakquel as a background dancer. Since he’s been off TV, his ventures on the internet have exploded especially on YouTube. His channel is tailored for those who want to his dancing, vlogs, relationship advice, and even singing. YES, D-Trix can sing and he’s released a few worthy-listening songs. There’s one thing for certain Dominic ‘D-Trix’ Sandoval isn’t finished with placing his mark in the entertainment world and the best of the best has yet to come.
