Your friendly neighborhood web-slinging hero will break the barrier of the multiverse once again!

Miles Morales is back for more universal adventures as this time multiple Spider-Men throughout the multiverse will be making an appearance.

Sony would begin developing the sequel to Into the Spider-Verse before the film’s release in 2018, with the writing and directing team attached. It was set to focus on the relationship between Moore’s Miles and Steinfeld’s Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman.. The film was officially announced in November 2019 and animation work began in June 2020, with a different visual style for each of the six universes visited by the characters.

During, the 2021 Comic Con Experience, a prologue for the film was released, revealing the title and the fact that the film is a two-part sequel. The third film was also titled, ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ and given a release date of March 29th, 2024. On December 13th, Sony dropped the first official look at ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ depicting a contemplative moment between Morales talking to his mother Rio as they look out on a view of New York City. Followed by, Miles swinging and swooping across the city and beyond with Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen through a wormhole-like tunnel that spans various dimensions.

Following the release of the official trailer, Sony Pictures has dropped the official poster for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The poster itself continues to showcase a diverse amount of Spider-people from familiar to new variants to be featured throughout the film. Leading them is a slightly grown-up Miles Morales, who now has more experience with being a superhero.

The film is directed by Joaquin dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson with the screenplay penned by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller, and David Callaham. Avid Arad, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Christina Steinberg will produce the film with executive producers Bod Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, Rodney Rothman, Aditya Sood, Rebecca Karch, and Brian Bendis.

The cast also includes, Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham, and Oscar Isaac.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will premiere in theaters on June 2nd, 2023.
