The radical rascal is back after 20 LONGGGGGGGGG years!

The long-awaited sequel to the original trilogy picks up where Warped left off, but with a fresh new engine running behind the beloved franchise as the art style has been overhauled for the latest systems. Activision is calling this brand new adventure a “true sequel” for the fans of the famous mascot.

Set at the very end of Crash Bandicoot: Warped, the new game sees Neo Cortex, Dr. N. Tropy, and Uka Uka finally escape from their remote plant and return for another attempt at multiverse domination. Of course, you stand in their way, and you’ll have access to four special Quantum Masks to “bend the rules of reality” itself and make it through difficult areas. These include the Time Mask which slows down time and the Gravity Mask allowing you to platform upside down.

The fans have nothing to worry about as the game’s development is in the hands of Toys For Bob, which also handled the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Crash 4 will use similar basic platforming gameplay that fans have grown to love from the original titles, but this will be expounded upon with advanced and modern twists such as wall-running and grinding rails to make traversing certain tough areas a little more enjoyable. You’ll also be able to play as Neo Cortex alongside Crash and Coco.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will warp onto consoles on October 2nd, 2020 for $59.99. Pre-orders are also available! Purchasing the game digitally at the PS Stor will grant you the Totally Tubular Skins (available at launch) for Crash and Coco.

  1. It’s still weird to me seeing Crash games on an Xbox. I’m not huge into platformers, but I’ll probably give this game a try once it’s out.
