We already know how badass Scarlett Johansson can get with her roles as Black Widow (The Avengers) and Major from the upcoming the popular Japanese anime turned live-action movie (Ghost in the Shell). However, yesterday we got some refreshing take as Sony releases the first trailer to her latest movie the R-rated titled comedy Rough Night (formerly known as Rock That Body). You would never expect a wild night of this nature, but with the success of movies like Bad Moms, women have been cutting it loose on the big screen.
Rough Night is about a bride (Scarlett Johansson) who is heading down to Miami with her old college girlfriends (Jillian Bell, Ilana Glazer, Zoë Kravitz, and Kate McKinnon) looking for a night of excitement for the bride-to-be. As the fun escalates back at the room things take a dark turn when something goes wrong with the male stripper the women ordered.
Here’s a number of character posters giving the audience a little look at what these women are all about:
Director Lucia Aniello makes her feature directorial debut with Rough Night as she’s serving as a writer, producer, and director on the hit Comedy Central series Broad City. Paul W. Downs who also serves as star/writer & producer on Broad City also co-wrote the script for this movie and plays Scarlett Johansson’s fiancee in this movie. The crew also consist of writers Matt Tolmach and Dave Becky who serve as producers as well with Matthew Hirsch as an executive producer.
Although most red-band trailers are full of R-rated language and uncensored material this trailer is dubbed a “restricted” trailer, with some sexually-charged scenes and language.
Co-starring Demi Moore, Colton Haynes, Ty Burrell and Dean Winters making an appearance which we could see in the next trailer.
Rough Night premieres on June 16th, 2017.
