Lea Seydoux Could Be Joining Daniel Craig As New Bond Girl

The new Bond girl may have been chosen to star in Daniel Craig’s next adventure. French actress Léa Seydoux could be the female lead in the Bond 24 cast.

Seydoux is said to be expected to join Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, and Naomie Harris in a script reading next month. This indicates that the Paris-born actress could be James Bond’s next love interest or a new villain.

Léa Seydoux has been known for her roles in previous films such as the Tom Cruise vehicle Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Inglourious Basterds, Robin Hood, and The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Previous Bond girls have always left a lasting impression on audiences, from the classic reveal of Ursula Andress in Dr. No, to the generally slammed performance of Denise Richards in The World is Not Enough. The most memorable roles are the ones where we aren’t sure if she’s on James Bond’s side or secretly working for the villain.

The Daily Mail reports that Seydoux “will undergo a series of costume, make-up and camera tests so that director Sam Mendes and the film’s producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson can determine her ‘look.’”

According to IGN, the original Bond 24 script called for someone of Scandinavian origins, but the idea was nixed in favor of someone with natural French roots. While Seydoux’s involvement may still be undetermined, another possibility given the description would be Emma Watson of Harry Potter fame. Being the new Bond girl could help the Paris-born actress redefine herself on the big screen.
