Jay Park Is Back…[Although He Never Left]

Jay Park. The very name can bring up a long list of accomplishments, endeavors pursued, collaborations on an international scale, and everlasting notoriety. The Korean-American not only has these list of greatness wrapped around his belt, but is nothing short of becoming his own brand. With the growth of AOMG (which he co-founded) Park has been able to successfully map out his own destiny when it comes to one of many of his passions. Although some may say he’s just like every other artist, many can argue that Jay Park has been able to adapt to his everyday life and feed off that drive.

Having grown up listening to music of American artists, he admits his music sounds more “American” than K-Pop, saying it is the style of music he wants to make, while still being recognized as K-Pop. His musical process starts by listening to a lot of beats sent by various producers, while thinking of what kind of song he wants to write, and eventually short-listing a selection of potential beats to work with. Then, Park works on the melody of the song, along with ideas and lyrics. He writes the hook of the song first, and finally the verses. Park is inspired by everything when writing songs : “just listening to good songs, seeing a good live performance, having good conversations with people. Just everyday life”.

In September 1, 2014, his second full-length album came out called Evolution. Evolution holds 17 song, with remix of his single release after New Breed and new tracks. Which received a lot of positive feedback leaving the fans waiting for more. In 2015, the Korean-American hip-hop artist has been busy for the past few months as it seems he has something big planned for 2015. In an interview hiphopkr.com Jay Park discussing his track “LOTTO“, he revealed a little hint for the fans that have been waiting.

HIPHOPPLAYA: We would love to hear about your plans to collaborate with international artists.

Jay Park: I am currently working on a project EP which will hopefully feature a number of artists from overseas. I will leave it at that until everything is confirmed.

HIPHOPPLAYA: What is the plan for AOMG in 2015?

Jay Park: We are all planning to release something this year. Big things coming.

It seems obvious that Jay Park is nothing, but amazing when it comes to releasing something every fan wants to hear. LOTTO proves that. In a short three day span Jay Park would not only get another hot track on his YouTube channel, but make a MV along with it.

In this masterpiece, he keeps rapping for the entirety of the song. Even though we’ve seen a lot of hip hop tracks from him, it’s still amazing to see him give fans a 100% rap-only release. The song was produced by Gray, and the MV was shot in Cafe Dudart AOMG.

We hope to see nothing, but greatness for Jay Park. His personal growth will be in the history books for years to come. As for right now and his big plans in 2015 for himself and AOMG we can only wait and support the ambitious artist.
