Due to various leaks Techland has decided to take their initial approach for Dying Light’s second DLC into an entirely new narrative direction marking a bold move for the survival-horror franchise. This brand new game will take the exhilarating parkour-driven action and strategic comeback of the original entries to even greater heights. Building on the foundations of its predecessors, this upcoming installment plunges players into an expansive open world that teems with danger, mystery, and choice-driven storytelling. The Game Awards 2024 revealed this bold new take as it introduced a mysterious villain by the name of The Baron alongside a release window for the Summer of 2025.
The game takes place 13 years after Kyle Crane first appearance, players takes control of Crane once again to hunt his captors after being experimented on for more than a decade. The ones who were experimenting on Kyle Crane intent on weaponizing the zombie virus that decimated the city of Harran, but that outcome may not be realized…
At its core, Dying Light: The Beast retains the hallmark elements that made the series a standout—kinetic freerunning through a sprawling urban environment, frantic battles against hordes of infected, and a relentless day-night cycle that ratchets up the tension as darkness falls. Yet this time around, Techland is upping the ante. The world is larger, more dynamic, and more reactive to player decisions. Each district you explore brims with unique challenges and hidden storylines, encouraging you to forge alliances and rivalries that meaningfully influence how the narrative unfolds.

The central threat now looming over the city is a vicious new breed of infected—creatures collectively referred to as “The Beast.” These unnervingly adaptive foes promise combat encounters that demand both tactical resourcefulness and precise timing. Thankfully, survivors will have access to a wider range of custom weapons, useful gadgets, and a refined skill system that rewards creative problem-solving. Whether you’re leaping across rooftops to evade pursuing hordes or joining forces with fellow survivors to reclaim territory, every action carries weight and consequence.
Dying Light: The Beast aims to deliver a deeply immersive experience where exploration matters as much as confrontation. By blending a richly detailed setting, intense combat scenarios, and a narrative shaped by your actions, this new chapter in the Dying Light saga aspires to push the open-world survival genre to exciting and unnerving new frontiers.
