Grand Admiral Thrawn was first introduced by writer Timothy Zahn in the 1991 novel, Heir to the Empire which began an era of post-Return of the Jedi books and comics. Since then, the cunning character was wiped away due to Disney’s complete reconstructing of the Star Wars canon timeline. Thrawn would have a major role in the third and fourth season of Star Wars Rebels ensuring the Rebel Alliance and young Jedi, Ezra Bridger would fear his might in the galaxy. After a two-year hiatus and question of his whereabouts, it seems the Grand Admiral has returned and he’s not alone.
The sequel to the 2017 novel Thrawn, features an unexpected moment as it pitches the meeting between the Chiss villain and Anakin Skywalker. The story seems to take place prior to Skywalker becoming Darth Vader. For the foreseeable future, there’s no doubt, Hayden Christensen will not ever reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker, but we get to see the prequel actor with a lightsaber in hand again as we get a look at the San Diego Comic-Con exclusive cover to Timothy Zahn‘s upcoming novel, Thrawn: Alliances.
Check out the cover below, and read up an excerpt of a scene between Thrawn and Anakin that you wouldn’t want to miss. The audio clip is again narrated by Marc Thompson.
