It’s been known by his fellow Marvel actors that Tom Holland has a habit of spoiling a lot of details to movies. In one instance, he would spoil the ending of the Avenger: Infinity War to a packed crowd. To his defense, he did not know they didn’t watch the movie yet. Now that Infinity War is out in theaters and a majority of Marvel fans knowing that Holland‘s Spider-Man is “dead” what’s next for our friendly neighborhood spider?
In what is being played as an “accident” Tom Holland took to his Instagram to reveal the sequel title for the Spider-Man: Homecoming. In reflection to Kevin Feige‘s previous confirmation of a sequel the title is revealed to be Spider-Man: Far From Home. Further the talking point, the plot also has Peter Parker leaving New York for a European adventure in London that will reflect the global aftermath of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4.

It was revealed earlier this month that Jake Gyllenhaal is set to play supervillain Mysterio in the sequel with Michael Keaton reprising his role as Adrian Toomes/The Vulture. This could possibly be the set up for the eventual arrival of Sinister Six. Speaking of which, Mac Gargan/The Scorpion portrayed by Michael Mando was teased in the credits scene of Homecoming and could be making an appearance.
Spider-Man: Homecoming writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers will return as well as Jon Watts to direct.
Although Marvel Studios hasn’t come out to confirm this to be the official title, for now, Spider-Man: Far From Home will be released in theaters on July 5th, 2019.
