E3 2018: Kingdom Hearts III – Pirates of Caribbean Returns!
Sora and Co. make their return to the seas in the latest trailer.
There’s one game that the vast majority of gamers have been anticipating and it is surrounding the entire E3 event, Kingdom Hearts 3. This week, fans had an eye and earful about the upcoming title as E3 goes through its final stretch. Kingdom Hearts 3 offered up new characters, special abilities, and multiple worlds new and old. During the Sony E3 press conference, Kingdom Hearts 3 presented new content featuring some familiar faces and new enemies. So break out the rum and sail the seas as Captain Jack Sparrow will be your mate once more.
Sora is about to team up with Captain Jack Sparrow for another adventure. Returning with him is Will Turner, Elizabeth Swan, Gibbs along with Goofy Donald and Calypso. However, the scene that’s shown in the video that features all of these characters seems to take place during the event of ‘At World’s End. This would also suggest that Davey Jones and various others may be making their appearance in the world’s story.
Other than the characters, the gameplay that’s featured in the game is stellar with a literal head-to-head battle on the seas. And the way they pulled off Sora‘s pirate gear adds that extra feel unlike the last time Pirates of the Caribbean appeared.
The trailer continues with Sora and friends as various worlds with more characters are shown. Hercules, Buzz Lightyear, Elsa, & Rapunzel show up in the video while Utada Hikaru‘s new single “Don’t Think Twice” for the game. It’s extraordinary how much she has become synonymous with the Kingdom Hearts III game that it causes you to think back on the days of “Simple and Clean“.
Another heartwarming moment was seeing how not only did to bring the focus on Sora, but they also managed to feature multiple appearances by classic characters such various members for the original Organization XIII (Xemnas, Xigbar, Luxord, Larxene, & Marluxia) as they name drop The Unversed. Axel makes an appearance alongside Kairi. Riku ends the trailer with his present-day self-staring back at Riku Replica that was featured in the original Kingdom Hearts game.
Aforementioned, Kingdom Hearts 3 is the most highly anticipated sequel and most-watched titles at E3 this year and with the events coming together for this series it may be all worth the wait for Square Enix.
Kingdom Hearts III will hit the shelves on January 29, 2018.
