When you see the visuals of iconic animes scroll along and then, you see Frieza’s Spaceship the goosebumps begin to form. During the Xbox E3 conference, a new fighting game titled, Jump Force was revealed. According to developers, the game is serving a celebration the Shonen Jump anniversary and will be showcasing a realistic aspect of Shonen Jump‘s most beloved characters.
In the trailer, we get a glimpse of some fast pace and intense action displayed by some of Shonen Jump’s major characters, like Monkey D. Luffy of One Piece, Goku from Dragon Ball and Naruto. We also see one villain that’s been so prominent in the Dragon Ball series, Frieza battling the heroes of Shonen Jump. In the end, we get to see a surprise appearance of Light and Ryuk from Death Note with their backs to the camera. The unfortunate part about seeing Light and Ryuk is the gameplay/fighting style is unknown.

Many of the areas in Jump Force are inspired by different series, like the ruined Hokage statues from Naruto and the Thousand Sunny from One Piece. During a press release, it was revealed that stages in the game will also feature real-world locations, like Time Square in New York City or the Matterhorn in the Alps. The Jump Force developers mentioned, that the reason for this is the merging of each world from the anime to the real world.
Although it’s been four years since a crossover of our beloved Shonen Jump characters battling it out this game is different. Although we only a few characters that will be in the game, Bandai Namco plans on announcing them in the future.
