E3 has the gaming industry in an uproar of excitement and EA (Electronic Arts) has already announced its biggest titles, like Battlefield V, before its E3 keynote. However, other than a few titles we didn’t know about, EA didn’t reveal too much, such as a new indie game that’s launched yesterday and some new gameplay footage featuring the highly anticipated BioWare game Anthem. After much backlash from the Battlefront II loot boxes, EA has promised no repeats will follow in these games.
ANTHEM –
February 22nd, 2019
Last year, BioWare announced the new game for a big reveal in 2018. Anthem focuses on a shared-world role-playing game set in a hostile future, where players don a powered armor suits known as “javelins“. Each javelin is equipped with special abilities that can be used throughout the game’s ever-present missions. One thing Anthem depicted so far gives it a combination of mech warfare, with subtle similarities of its massive Destiny-style multiplayer gameplay. The visuals of the game are amazing as developers indicate that the game will adapt to various seasonal weathers which will shape how well the player succeeds in their missions. BioWare‘s Anthem will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on February 22nd, 2019.
BATTLEFIELD V –
October 16 (Deluxe Edition), October 18th (EA/Origin), October 19th (Standard)
We got the announcement of Battlefield V last month as an early reveal from EA and DICE, but a lot of new information came out during EA Play. It’s apparent that the growing presence of what makes PUBG and Fortnite popular has had its influence on multiple games. During EA Play, DICE’s Oskar Gabrielson and Lars Gustavsson made the announcement Battlefield V will have a new Battle Royale mode fresh off the heels of Black Ops 4 announcing its version of a Battle Royale mode titled, ‘Blackout’ mode. After the announcement, we didn’t get a trailer featuring the new mode but we were assured that more information regarding Battlefield V will be revealed later this year.

Unravel Two –
Available Now!
Captivating our hearts in one game during the night was Unravel 2. The developers at Swedish gaming studio, Coldwood Interactive reveals a game that is controlled by two little creatures known as Yarnys. In the first one, you had to work on your own, but the sequel offers a co-op and incentive of working together to progress. The interesting part about this game is both Yarny can be controlled by one or two players. There’s a lot that this game offers than the original. The Yarnys are more acrobatic and faster as you move quickly from woodlands to meadows and factory floors. This game relies heavily on your skills of platforming and puzzle solving. Developers want this game to be a coming together for anybody’s inner child than that the original just focusing on mostly family.
Unravel Two is available today, for PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One for $19.99. EA Access and Origin Access members can play the beginning of Unravel Two today.
Other games revealed at EA Play last night that added even more excitement for gamers were:
STAR WARS…
2018 -2019
A developer of Respawn (Titanfall) did hint at a new Star Wars game before the show. The title and vague release date were revealed as well for the upcoming game. Respawn‘s Star Wars game is titled Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order. From what’s been told, the game will focus on the events after Order 66 and how the Jedi are being hunted; and it has a gritty and dark tone. Jedi: Fallen Order is slated for a release during the holiday season in 2019.
Another piece of Star Wars news is regarding Star Wars: Battlefront II. The developers from EA revealed that the long-awaited content from the Clone Wars will be making its way to Battlefront II. This includes playable versions of Anakin Skywalker, Count Dooku, General Grievous, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. In a press release, EA revealed a lot of its earlier failures and trying to fix various aspects of the game by fixing bugs, tweaking characters/modes/gameplay, revamping progression system, and adding new modes. They also point out that a level of transparency will occur among the developers and gamers with future content. We don’t know when the Clone Wars content will be released, but the Solo-themed expansion will be arriving on June 12th featuring the new planet Kessel, a new starfighter mode, among other things.
