SPARX Features Presents: ‘Leading A Tribe’ A Chief Story
SPARX: When did you and the rest of Tribe Chillin decide that it was time to come together and produce music? Was it an impulsive move or is there an overall goal?
Well, Cloud, Wave & Andwhy have known each other since kindergarten and Dream Catcher is Cloud’s cousin so they’ve all been kicking it basically their whole lives. It wasn’t until High school that I finally met Cloud which then led to meeting everyone else! Cloud & I were making music when Richie actually suggested that I talk to Wave about beats & being apart of everything! So it wasn’t long after we all met that we got right to it, it was fun for us and we did it every day.

SPARX: Do you consider yourself the official leader of Tribe Chillin?
I consider myself 1/5th, There is no official leader, Everything we have done has been a group consensus since the beginning!
SPARX: Let’s reel it back a little about you. Tell us how music influenced your life?
It has always been around, I love it. Music is something that truly makes me feel, it always has and always will. I’m glad I can contribute my emotions into my own music & hopefully people can feel something from it as well!
SPARX: Did you always consider hip-hop the main source of your music or have you thought about branching out?
I love hip-hop but more recently I have been vibin with my voice trying to do some 2000s R&B classic shit! I won’t go country or rock or anything though just a little vibin I have been doing.
SPARX: The summer of 2015 became yours as the release your first solo mixtape “Mindful Living” debuted. We know the adrenaline was pumping with that release. What did you think of the release of the mixtape and what were your feelings on the process of making your first solo mixtape?
Mindful Living was my first album & I really did put my whole heart into that one! The messages on there will forever be close to me! It’s crazy cause I really wanted to do Mindful May as like kind of the same way I’m pushing Mischief but unfortunately, it had to be pushed back because I didn’t want to rush it. The process was very stressful but beautiful at the same time, super enlightening!
SPARX: June 29th, 2016. We wrote a review about ‘Blue Moon Studio’. It was definitely a unique mixtape as it provided the fans with a taste of who you are and what kind of talented artists you will work with. What inspired you and the collective artists who participated in this endeavor?
I was living with Flow Simpson on Laird St in Arizona and my studio there was called “Blue Moon Studios” so we thought it would be cool to cook something up together while we still created our own music. To this day that is one of my favorite artworks, Shouts to Richie Rizo!
