Marvel seems to have found their success with releasing some of their heroes showcased on Netflix. ‘Luke Cage’ is the latest in the collaboration with Netflix to be explored. It kicked off with Daredevil and was followed with the superb Jessica Jones. Next year’s ‘Iron fist’ will be the next one to be released along with ‘Luke Cage’ being released this coming Friday. September 30th. Its highly anticipated debut gives a reason for Netflix to unveil the final trailer.
The show takes places after the event of Jessica Jones, with Mike Colter’s bulletproof Luke Cage going back home to Harlem in an effort to rebuild his life. However, he soon learns the city is under the control of the nefarious kingpin Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes, played bu Mahershala Ali (House of Cards & Moonlight). Cage finds Cheo Hodari Coker telling an unapologetic black superhero story. You have to appreciate when there’s a little no holds barred to comic books becoming tv series. The viewer would appreciate the characters and its stories a lot more.
