Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: The A-Holes Are Back!

With only five months to go, Marvel has released a brand new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The sequel is treated like a natural evolution between outlaws that wanted nothing to do with each to now a cohesive team willing to sacrifice their own lives for one another. Given that Marvel Studios has grown to know what the audience enjoys there’s no surprise that even the teaser captivates them. The follow-up reunites the titular Guardians of the Galaxy—Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), and Baby Groot (Vin Diesel) to battle a new threat and search for Peter Quill‘s father.

Early trailers were for the 2014 original, the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailers were primarily centered around a song from one of Peter Quill‘s mixtapes, with Sweet‘s 1974 track, “Fox on the Run” stepping in for Blue Suede‘s “Hooked on a Feeling“. It will be interesting to see how Marvel delivers the story of Quill‘s true parentage as it may shape the team’s ability to work together. There’s has yet to be any mentions of the “villain” visually or verbally in this fine but the mystery will possibly pay off later in the film.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 cast includes the return of Chris Pratt; Star-Lord (Jurassic World & Parks and Recreation), Dave Bautista; Drax (SPECTRE, The Man with the Iron Fists), Zoe Saldana; Gamora (Avatar & Star Trek), Vin Diesel; Baby Groot (Chronicles of Riddick & Furious 7), Bradley Cooper; Rocket (American Sniper & Wedding Crashers), Michael Rooker; Yondu (The Walking Dead & Jumper), Karen Gillan; Nebula (Doctor Who & The Big Short), Sean Gunn; Kraglin (Guardians of the Galaxy & Gilmore Girls).

The new cast will introduce, Pom Klementieff; Mantis (Oldboy), Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan, and Kurt Russell; Ego, the Living Planet (The Hateful Eight & Furious 7)

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters on May 5th, 2017.
