As Tier 1 Wrestling has delivered one of their best shows this year (so far) it was only the beginning for what’s to come. The action was hard-hitting, fast pace, and traditional at its core that even the hardcore fans of pro-wrestling will appreciate the show that showcased the rising talent in the industry today. Tier 1 truly knows how to invest in the best talent no matter the promotion as long the drive and passion are there to succeed. You won’t have to wait anymore as a new event was announced last month. On Friday, May 20th, the rising New York-based wrestling promotion Tier 1 Wrestling returns to the Floyd Bennett American Legion in Brooklyn with ‘METEORIC’.

Back on April 14th, we’ve reported that Tier wasn’t stepping back as they announced an event for the month of May called, ‘METEORIC’. After that announcement the details started to roll out like; the fearless and formidable free-spirited athlete Matthew Riddle being scheduled to compete, Darius Carter’s 3rd ‘Brass Ring Invitational’ match was setup, and the legend ‘The Notorious 187’ Homicide. As of that time the wait for their opponents tested our patience to see what may happen and RIGHT NOW those opponents have been revealed. Honestly, can’t wait for these matches to play out for it’s truly the rising stars versus the veterans.

“Wrestling’s Richest Prize” Darius Carter VS “Hot Sauce” Tracy Williams

Darius Carter walked into ‘March To Victory’ with a tremendous challenge on his hands as he went up against Fred Yehi. The smash-mouth style of Yehi was definitely leaving Mr. Carter reeling as it seemed he was out for the count, but once the signature move ‘Foreclosure’ was executed that was the end. Carter would go on to make remarks about his superiority until JT Dunn came out to introduce himself to the Tier 1 audience. To Carter’s displeasure, he would get into Dunn’s face, but was met with a Death By Elbow. In the aftermath, it looked like these two would face each other, HOWEVER Tier 1 management has hand-picked a world renowned competitor to take on Darius Carter’s ‘Brass Ring Invitational’ the technical powerhouse ‘Hot Sauce’ Tracy Williams. Given the fact that Williams was announced to compete in the WWE’s highly anticipated Global Cruiserweight Series gives you a glimpse as to how much the “Wrestling’s Richest Prize” has to step his game up. “Hot Sauce” Tracy Williams has two opportunities this month along with Darius Carter. It should be extremely interesting to see who will come out victorious.

Gran Akuma VS “The Empbruh” Black Baron

If there’s one match that has the reputation of being built as ‘Veteran vs. Rising’ wrestling story this match will truly be it. Many consider during the Six Way Elimination Fray at ‘March To Victory’ being the upset of the night when Baron pinned the 14-year veteran. Being mentioned by Tier 1 as calling the outcome of the match being an upset does not take away from the ability of Black Baron, but Akuma’s career and experience gives an impressive pass to the Empbruh and figuring it was arguably the most focused he’s ever been. If you remember that little face-off from these two athletes it seems at the request of Baron he wants to face Akuma one-on-one to prove that his victory was anything, but a fluke. On May 20th, Akuma may be just as ruthless as he has been since he brutally attacked the Tier 1 Champion, RudeBoy Riley. Don’t sell Black Baron short for he may put a stop the ruthlessness of Akuma before it begins. The name of the game is RESPECT.

‘The Obsession’ Caleb Konley VS Matthew ‘Deep Waters’ Riddle

Matthew Riddle has been in the fast lane on being a standout wrestler for quickly adapting to the wrestling world as he previously competed in the UFC. He was penciled in to face “The Juice” JT Dunn, but due to unfortunate mix-ups with scheduled dates, Tier 1 management had to push forward and find a suitable replacement for the versatile athlete. Tier 1 has selected the reigning, defending FIP World Heavyweight Champion, ‘The Obsession’ Caleb Konley who is making his return to the promotion. Konley has recently signed to TNA to further develop his career in professional wrestling. This match can become a battle of egos as these two not only have something to prove in the ring. Maybe, Konley can out wrestle Riddle given the decade of experience he has and his current title reign. Despite the experience, Riddle doesn’t shy away from any veteran wrestler as he has a lot to prove to himself. With the recent signing to TNA for Caleb Konley and the feelers from the WWE for a possible run in Matthew Riddle’s direction, this could be a mock ‘TNA vs. WWE’ type match. Of course, that’s just how I look at it. On May 20th, will the dangerous arsenal of strikes and submission from Riddle be too much for the mind games played by Caleb Konley? Or will the experience make the case for the battle-tested FIP champion? May 20th will tell the story.

The Unpredictable’ JGeorge VS ‘The Thriller of New England’ Christian Casanova VS ‘The Prince of Aesthetics’ Damian Gibbs VS Vinny Pacifico VS Archadia VS ???Six Way Elimination Fray

The Six Way Elimination Fray is one of Tier 1’s greatest creation to showcase the hungry young talent to get the ultimate opportunity; to face the promotion’s champion. Who wouldn’t want that opportunity? This time, the Fray is featuring a lot of young talent that hasn’t graced the Tier 1 roster. JGeorge has definitely been unpredictable enough as he joined the ranks of the FEDERATED faction at ‘March To Victory’, so we may see a third member enter the Final Fray (coming this Fall).  Fresh off of capturing the LSW Heavyweight Championship, “The Thriller of New England”  looks to take another Heavyweight Championship, but first, his charming style has to overcome the unorthodox Six Way Elimination Fray. The third man revealed has a ULTIMATE written all over him as his debut in Tier 1 will truly showcase how well Damian Gibbs may overcome the Fray. Tier 1 Wrestling is all about showcasing true and young talent with Vinny Pacifico that’s exactly it. Pacifico has the hunger to be the best and on May 20th, he’ll get that opportunity among the independent wrestling’s top rising stars. If anything can be proven is that experience can shake things up, much like Gran Akuma in the previous Fray. Archadia has the sixteen-year experience to show these young rising stars how it’s done, but his focus is to become Tier 1 Wrestling Champion. One more question we have is who’s the final Fray competitor? Just have to wait and see…

Big Damo O’Connor Appearance

On February 27th, this man walked into Mandela Hall in Belfast, Ireland one of the most fearsome big men the business has ever seen, and he walked out the ICW World Heavyweight Champion; brutalizing Chris Renfrew to the point of a ref stoppage. Big Damo O’Connor brings new meaning to the term throwback. He’s coming to Tier 1 Wrestling on May 20th for ‘METEORIC’!!

Ace Romero w/ FEDERATED VS Fallah Bahh

‘March To Victory’ was definitely the bridge to this match-up being made. As FEDERATED took over majority of the show with matches ranging from the Fray, Ethan Page, & JGeorge took on Jessie Brooks. Although FEDERATED was making footprints into Tier 1’s historic event one man didn’t take too kindly to it, FALLAH BAHH came out with a chair ready for a fight and calling out Ace Romero, but wasn’t answered. It’s no surprise FEDERATED does things on their time even with Tier 1 management asserting their authority. With that being said, come May 20th, don’t let their sizes get the best of you as you’ll see two athletic wrestlers go to war!

‘The Fresh Prince Of Shaolin’ RudeBoy Riley VS ‘The Notorious 187’ Homicide

History will be made again for Tier 1 Wrestling as ‘The Notorious 187’ had delivered a message to Tier 1 management for his in-ring debut and at ‘METEORIC’ it’s been locked in for T1W. Having a close eye on the young talent in recent years, Homicide has been eager to compete against them. In the message, he’s been paying particularly close to the Tier 1 Wrestling Champion, RudeBoy Riley, and the legendary wrestler likes what he sees. So in a non-title and without pay Homicide wants to test the rising stars for his heart, skills, and to really see if Riley has what it takes to rule the streets of the city that never sleeps. As proud as the Tier 1 Wrestling champion is, Riley has a class act way of respecting the business as being a student of the game. Tier 1 coined this perfectly, “Is Riley ready for the initiation of a lifetime?”

It’s obvious that Tier 1 Wrestling isn’t playing any games as ‘METEORIC’ is fastly approaching. We will be providing up-to-date news as it becomes available.
