Although the Royal Rumble match isn’t about how many people you eliminate in the match the accolade of eliminating a lot to win the match is a shining example for those who will go through anyone even their own tag team partners. Kane was a man that held the record for most elimination in a single match back in 2001. Even though he was one of the last in the ring besides Steve Austin, Kane didn’t win the match as he was eliminated by Austin. 14 years later gave way for a new wrestler to topple Kane’s record of 11 eliminations with 12.

When The Shield debuted at Survivor Series 2012 by assaulting Ryback, during the triple threat main event for the WWE Championship, allowing CM Punk to retain the title. Out the group Ambrose was the loose-cannon, while Rollins was considered to be “The Architect” meaning he had the masterplans going on, but Roman Reigns was considerd to be powerhouse where his brute strength helped desamate the adversaires. With successfully taking down some of the top WWE wrestlers, it was time for them to compete in the Royal Rumble match to see what they could individually. Reigns entered the Rumble match at number 15, and set the record for most eliminations in a single Rumble with 12. He eliminated both his Shield teammates, and was the runner-up in the match after being eliminated by Batista. Later on in the year The Shield disband after Rollins betrayed the group. Reigns would go on to chase the WWE World Heavyweight Championship only to be taking out of that chase many times over. He was met with great criticism after it seemed the company was forcfully pushing Reigns onto the fans in early 2015. Later in the year, Reigns would ultimately come to win his second WWE World Heavywieght Championship on the December 14th edition of RAW. With the 2016 Royal Rumble match coming up tonight will we see Reigns break his own record of eliminations? Will Reigns retain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against 29 other wrestlers and see his second Rumble victory? and/or Will Reigns suffer defeat and lose his WWE World Heavyweight Championship?

We can disect the Royal Rumble match all day, but one thing for certain, this match is one of WWE’s saving graces to make a wrestler a superstar. Whether it’s the most eliminations, winning another Royal Rumble match, or going for over an hour the last man standing will be in the main event of WrestleMania. Tonight, history will be made from any spectrum you want to see it. Surprises will be seen, records could be broken, or a new champion may be crowned. If you want to watch one exciting event tonight is the event. We all will see and hear the famous countdown 3.., 2.., 1! It’s time for the ROYAL RUMBLE!
