Kingdom Hearts III: An Announcement?

Square Enix confirmed that it would release details about a new title before the end of 2015. This title will not be the next Final Fantasy game, so fans are wondering if perhaps this may be the announcement of Kingdom Hearts 3.

Square Enix said the next game would come as a surprise to many fans. Yosuke Matsuda, president of the company, said that the game would be announced around the Tokyo Game Show. The company will also announce their plans for PC, arcade, eSports-like games, smartphone games and live-type multiplayer games.

Matsuda would go on to say, “At the moment, we have major titles such as Dragon Quest Heroes and Final Fantasy Type-0 HD,”. “In 2015, I believe we will offer a vast number of high-end games in both the domestic market and overseas. Now that we’ve already announced Final Fantasy XV, we will also reveal information on [another] JRPG. I believe we have a bit of a surprise in store for this year.”

Matsuda wouldn’t say anything else about the incoming announcement. Still, fans believe that it will be Kingdom Hearts III that will be announced since Square Enix said it wouldn’t release in 2015.

Despite this, it is a fact that there will be a fan event where fans will learn more about Kingdom Hearts III. Between November 6 and November 8 at the Tokyo Disney Resort, Disney will host a “Kingdom Hearts Fan Event”.

Disney will also host a fan event at Cinema Ikspiari on November 3. The last D23 Expo Japan revealed the announcement of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix, so this event may announce Kingdom Hearts III.

The rumor that Kingdom Hearts III would include characters from Star Wars and Frozen received more spark as Square Enix announced it had cancelled a mobile game including characters from those movies.

The game was called “Kingdom Hearts: Fragmented Keys”. It was in the works in 2013 but did not make it past the development stage.
