The Live Action ‘Attack On Titan’ Trailer Is VERY Cryptic

The latest news about the much-anticipated “Attack on Titan” live action movie trailer has been getting fans excited for the film’s release.

This is after the official trailer for the movie was released online for fans to see. The clip shows the main characters being attacked by the giant humans as they run for cover. The trailer, which was picked up by numerous sites, quickly became viral. As translated by Comicbook, it had the following narration:

“Over one hundred years ago… Half of humanity was eaten by the titans that suddenly appeared… The humanity that remained created a giant wall, and lived peacefully.”

“Anticipated by the whole world!!”

“Live-action film green-lit!”

“The world is cruel,” as said by the character, Mikasa.

“If we mess up, that’s the end for humanity,” said Eren.

The “Attack on Titan” live-action movie will be released on August 1 of this year. It will feature Haruma Miura as lead character Eren Yeager. Along with the Japanese actor will be U.S. born model and singer, Kiko Mizuhara, who is set to play the role of Mikasa Ackerman. The rest of the cast members include model/singer Nanami Sakuraba as Sasha Blouse, actor Takahiro Miura as Jean Kirstein, actor Satomi Ishihara as Hange Zoë, and actor Kanata Hongo as Armin Arlert.

The live-action movie is based on the popular anime-manga series that focuses on the occurance of the Titans, a breed of giant humanoid creatures that eat humans for no reason. As a defense, the humans have built walls to protect their city and themselves against the said creatures.

In other “Attack on Titan” live action movie news, the film is also reported by the source cited above to be divided into two parts. This has left fans feeling more excited for the film’s release.. Successfully recreating a comic book as live action seems like a tough thing to do, especially when it features giant skinless creatures that eat humans just because they can. Unfortunately, the movie’s first trailer doesn’t reveal much.

We see the chest of one Titan for about half a second as it’s shoving a writhing human into its mouth, and another one that’s largely obscured by a thick plume of smoke. Beyond that, it’s mostly explosions and scared faces that get screen time. Ignoring the Titan in the room is one way to get people to go see a movie.

Attack on Titan has been in production since 2011 and is reportedly set for a summer release in Japan.
