Q: Growing up as a child, was there anything that influenced you back in the day?

(Mike) my family has been a dance family always, my grandmother owned her own dance studio called Carol Annes school of dance in shoreview mn.  My mother and her brothers all grew up taking lessons at the studio and I was brought into it so my influences would be my family.

(Ryan) inspiration from friends and people around me that enjoyed dancing for fun and thought I could take it to the next level as a dancer and artist.

Q: How does your family support your dance career?

(Mike) My family wants nothing but to succeed in the art of dance and for my dreams to become realty.

(Ryan) My family does not believe its in my best interest to be a dancer. They don’t want to see me fail considering the entertainment business is a very hard one to be completely successful in, but that does not stop my drive and dedication.

Q: How much time are you willing to practice for a competition or a routine?

As much time as it takes to feel confident.

Q: What were the first dance competition you saw? How did it make you feel?

Americas Best dance crew was the first competition that was fully intriguing to the both of us and gave each of us a lot of inspiration to back ourselves with.

Q: What are some of the daily habits and disciplines required to become a dedicated dancer?

Stretching A lot of Stretching . Water. FOOD.

A minimum of 2 hours of dancing each day on weekdays and 4 hours a day on the weekend.

Q: Any aspirations that involve working with some of your idols? Who are your idols?

(Ryan) to be able to collaborate with Tight Eyez and or the Poreotics would be satisfying.

(Mike) Brian Puspos would be a huge idol for me and a big reason why I want to get better he inspires me so to be able to work with him it would be one of the greatest accomplishments of my career.

Q: Can you describe YNM Krew creative process when choreographing a new piece?

Always mapping out a story that fits the emotions of the group collectively and gathering inspiration from the lyrics of the song that is being choreographed.

Q:  As YNM begins to grow, do you take any other styles of dance. If so what influence does that have on your routine?

We are a group made up of many different styles and try to incorporate anything innovative and new to our work.

Q: Do you have any dance role models?

(Ryan) Tight eyez, poreotics, les twins, jabbawockies.

(Mike) Brian Puspos, Keone Madrid, and Daniel jerome

Q: Have you ever used your talents for the good of the community? Or do you have any aspirations to help your community?

Yes, we do showcases for the community events giving donations and donating our time to cancer research and involve ourselves with schools in the Rochester MN area.
