‘IAM THE MONSTER’ – Featuring: Enik Lin & Presented by: Sparx Entertainment
Q: Your album ‘RISE’ what was your inspiration behind it and how do you think it come out?
Like I mentioned earlier, all my music is about my Life. “Rise” is not excluded from that. It’s about my hardships, my happy moments, my struggles with God… etc.
Q: Do you prefer originality over conformity, even if it won’t make you as much money?
I think that’s a difficult and complicated question to answer. It really depends on what your end goal is and where you are in life. If you’re a kid trying to prove to the world that you’re a pure musician, yeah, and you want to write whatever you want to write, you can because you’re at a point in your life where you don’t have real responsibilities. You don’t have bills to pay, a family to feed, etc. But the music game is much more complex than that. Do I prefer originality over conformity? Yeah I do, but if you’re asking me to write you a song that sounds like Taylor Swift, and my rent is due in a week…then I’m going to write you a song that sounds like Taylor Swift. Depending on how creative you are, you can put an original spin on anything without traveling too far out of the box where people cannot understand. Like I said, it’s really about where you are in life and your end goal. Are you trying to make a real lasting professional career in music or are you just trying to be a musician. Those are two completely different things.
Q: When did you know you wanted to be a producer?
I became a producer because I couldn’t afford to hire other people to do it for me haha. My only other option was to learn how to do everything myself.
Q: Was there a song or artist in particular that inspired you to be a producer?
There are too many to list.
Q: What is your wildest story that ever happen?
Lol maybe in another interview.
Q: Thinking back to the very beginning of your career, how do you feel about your performance today and it is much different for you now when you first started?
My first performance was horrible. But it was needed so that i could improve. Every performance from my first has always been, “how do i do the next one bigger and better?”
Q: You and Van Ness Wu friends? If you did; how was it working with Van Ness Wu?
Yeah, Van is an amazing friend and person. I love working with Van. He is one of the easiest guys to work and is always a blessing to be around. Amazing guy.
Q: If you had a choice to live anywhere you have performed at which place would it be?
LOL there is no better place for me than where I’m at. SO CAL for life~!
Q: What do you think makes you and your type of music unique from other artists?
I make it different because it’s me. It’s a reflection of my soul and my feelings. Just as it is for other artists.
Q: As an artist, is there anything special you hope to be able to accomplish?
I believe that we have whatever abilities that we have for a reason. And we can use those abilities for a greater purpose or to fulfill our inner selfish needs. It’s something that artists fight hard to balance. Personally for me, I’d like to use my music to make a difference and move people. I’m not sure if I’ve figured out exactly how to do that but it is something that I’d like to accomplish.
If you read through this really long interview (haha), then thank you. It means a lot to me to have your support. I love you guys!!! Paramedics rule!
