WWE: Roman Reigns’ First Feud Post-Injury Is…..

Roman Reigns had his WWE feud with former Shield teammate Seth Rollins cut short because of a serious incarcerated hernia surgery. He was expected to miss a few months of action, and some thought he might return for the “Royal Rumble” in January. However, he is booked for shows in December and those matches might hint at his next feud. PWS reported on Thursday that Roman Reigns will battle Rusev when he returns.

This is an interesting choice. Rusev is currently the United States Champion and it looked like he might carry his title all the way to “Wrestlemania 31” where someone would finally stand up for America and take down the Russian brute and his loud mouthed manager Lana. However, it is unlikely that they will bring back Roman Reigns and have him lose his first feud back in the WWE.

If Roman Reigns and Rusev are set to feud upon his return, there is a chance that the Rusev undefeated streak could end sooner than expected. The idea in the WWE stills seems to be for Roman Reigns to win the Royal Rumble match in January, earning a title shot at “Wrestlemania 31,” and then go in and finally be the man to beat Brock Lesnar for the title. The idea is that beating Lesnar, after he dominated Undertaker and John Cena, would make Roman Reigns the top star in the company.

If Reigns somehow pulls off the feat of beating Rusev, and ending the WWE undefeated streak of the mighty Russian, it could actually be the start of a huge push for Roman Reigns that will include more than just a Wrestlemania moment. Beating Rusev, winning the Royal Rumble and then beating Brock Lesnar would be the biggest push imaginable for Roman Reigns, and this would make or break his career depending on how the fans react to it.
