Christoph Waltz Joins The Cast For Bond 24

Actor Christoph Waltz is reportedly on board to join the cast of the next James Bond movie.

Christoph Waltz has apparently been granted a license to thrill.

The two-time Academy Award winner has been cast as a villain opposite Daniel Craig’s James Bond in the next 007 movie,London’s Daily Mail is reporting.

Details of the Waltz’s character in the spy thriller which is going by the working title “Bond 24,” are being kept classified.

But a source close to the production told the Daily Mail, that “it’s not immediately evident whether the part’s friend, or foe, or a bit of both.”

The 58-year-old Austrian actor certainly has shown he has the chops to play an evil-doer on par with the best scenery-chewers in franchise history, including Telly Savalas (“On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”) and Javier Bardem (“Skyfall”). Waltz won his first Oscar for his spine-tingling turn as a calculated Nazi officer in 2009’s “Inglorious Basterds.”

The 24th installment of the Bond franchise, directed by “Skyfall” helmer Sam Mendes, is reportedly set to begin filming next month in Mexico, Morocco, Austria, Italy and London.

Also starring Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw, the film hits theaters on Nov. 6, 2015.

  1. I love me some Christoph Waltz! Even if the overall movie turns out to be a dud, I’m sure his performance alone will be worth the watch!
