Allen Iverson Comes To Realize Why He Could Never Become A Head Coach In The NBA


It’s been 12 and a half years since Allen Iverson gave his (we’re legally required to call it this) infamous “practice” press conference. In basketball years, that’s a long time. The reporter that Iverson was addressing, the great Phil Jasner, has even since passed away. Iverson bounced around from team to team in the years since, and after NBA teams stopped taking chances on him, he retired a little over a year ago. His last NBA minute was played in 2010. The game has moved on.

Iverson is currently in the Philippines coaching a celebrity basketball game featuring former NBA players like Eddy Curry and DeMarr Johnson alongside some streetball legends.

In talking with reporters, Allen got right to the point when asked why he’d never fly as an NBA head coach:
