‘Everybody Loves Taylor’
On Oct. 30, Taylor Swift performed in Times Square for “Good Morning America.” While speaking to Swift, host Robin Roberts announced that the live crowd was the largest ever for a “GMA” concert in the square. Hundreds of fans camped out all night long to see the pop diva perform three songs: “Welcome To New York,” “Out of the Woods,” and “Shake It Off” from her new “1989” album. According to Billboard, the album’s first single “Shake It Off” debuted at No. 1 on the Top 100 list. In other news, Swift plans to donate all proceeds from “Welcome to New York” to NYC Public Schools, as posted by ABC News on Oct. 29.
Unless you live under a rock, chances are extremely high that you’ve seen Taylor Swift plastered on your TV screen this week. She made an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Monday, plus pit stops on “Late Show with David Letterman” and “The View.” She also served as a knockout round advisor on “The Voice” on NBC.
Continuing her steamroll press tour, Swift packed Times Square on Thursday. She thanked everyone for supporting her newest album, which took two years to produce. Dressed in a black and gold top and black boy shorts, Taylor belted out three of her new pop songs to a screaming crowd of adoring fans.
Afterward, the singer-songwriter told Roberts excitedly, “I’m having the best week of my life!” She then went on to declare New York City “the greatest city in the world.” Swift will return to the Big Apple in two months to headline “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.” As posted by “Rolling Stone,” the ABC TV special will include a total of 38 performances and a live audience of one million, plus millions more who will tune in to the network from across the globe.
Just in case you haven’t seen enough of the country princess turned pop diva, Taylor Swift is also set to appear today on “The Talk” on CBS. Check local listings for time and channel information.
