No Wayne! Weezy Delays Upcoming Album…. Indefinitely!

the surprise of pretty much no one, Lil Wayne’s new album Tha Carter V has been pushed back indefinitely. KarenCivil.com confirmed the news on Oct. 27, one day before the fifth chapter in Wayne’s ongoing saga of semi-self-titled albums featuring amazingalbum art was scheduled to hit stores.

Even though news of the album’s delay falls on the surprise scale somewhere between the sun rising and Drake releasing new music in October, it’s nevertheless unfortunate for fans of the croaky-voiced rapper. After a rough period that saw Lil Wayne release some of the least-loved music of his career, Wayne looked like he was on the comeback trail with a series of mostly solid new songs and a fall tour with his labelmate Drake.

But just because fans will have to wait a little longer for the proper release of the rapper’s eleventh studio album, there’s still plenty of new Wayne music out now and on the horizon. Last week, Tunechi dropped a hot verse on the remix of T.I.’s “About the Money” and earlier this month, Weezy joined Ludacris for a remix of Yo Gotti’s “Errrbody” and appeared on The Game’s “F**k Yo Feelings.”

And although we won’t be getting a new Lil Wayne album tomorrow, we will be hearing the newest Nicki Minaj song “Only,” which features both Wayne and Drake and comes with some seriously incredible album art (something she’s clearly picked up from her Young Money boss and mentor). Watch the video for the Weezy and Drake collabo “Grindin’” above, and stop holding your breathe for the release of Tha Carter V, it will be out when it’s out, gosh.
