During Sony’s State of Play, one of PlayStation’s iconic sagas has a reason to celebrate! Santa Monica Studio revealed major God of War news. This news honors the franchise’s past. It also pushes it into new exciting territory.

Sony officially confirmed a full remake of the original God of War Greek trilogy is now in development. This announcement came as a surprise reveal. This beloved series, that began in 2005 on the PlayStation 2, will be rebuilt from the ground up for modern platforms, bringing the rage of Kratos’ earliest journey through ancient Greece back to life. TC Carson, the original voice actor for Kratos, shared the exciting news. He stated that the project is still in the very early stages. He asked fans to stay tuned for future updates. Fans have waited patiently for this remake. They are excited to see Kratos adventuring through another ancient period like Egypt in a new game.

Additionally, Sony and Santa Monica Studio announced a bold move with a brand new 2D-action platformer, God of War: Sons of Sparta. The canon story is set during Kratos’ youth during his harsh training at the Agoge alongside his brother Deimos. Writers from God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök have created a story of duty, honor, and brotherhood. TC Carson reprises his role for the first time in over a decade as the adult version of Kratos. He also serves as the narrator. Mega Cat Studios brings the tale a brand-new edge with their hand-drawn pixel animation. This animation recreates the return of iconic classics of Olympus. It also features a wide array of foes.
