James Gunn’s DC Studios new Superman flies into the spotlight!

The highly anticipated DC Studios project, ‘Superman’, directed by James Gunn is poised to reintroduce audiences to the iconic Man of Steel. Gunn, now spearheading the new DC Universe film slate, has stated that this film will act as DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. He also posted a motion poster teaser earlier morning on December 16th which many fans thought was the actual trailer. However, a short while later, Gunn would post a teaser with the announcement of the trailer being released on the 19th of December.
Here’s the motion poster teaser that depicts David Corenswet’s Superman gazing upwards as he takes flight. the background along with him displays reds, blues, and yellows of his suit blurring to create a mind-blowing high-speed effect that really captures the essence of Superman’s brilliance. The tagline reads, “Look up.” The motion poster also pays homage to John William’s legendary ‘Superman March’ but it’s slowed down with some reimagined modern elements that provide a balance of nostalgia and new perspectives.

“Superman” will hit theaters on July 11th, 2025 with James Gunn directing the first film of the new DC Expanded Universe. The film will star David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner the Green Lantern, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho and Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen.
