In 1984, Linda Hamilton portrayed Sarah Connor — a confused and frightened waitress — for the first Terminator movie. Then, Hamilton returned in 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day as a completely different Sarah Connor. She was a hardened badass with a dramatic physical transformation. Years later, Linda Hamilton makes her return to the famous role in Terminator 6, almost 30 years after T2 was in theaters.
The sixth installment will serve as another complete reboot to the franchise as Genisys was suppose to be the official reboot but never gained any momentum. Filming has just recently started in Madrid, Spain and we now have our first look at some of Terminator 6 set photos depicting Linda Hamilton geared up in costume, ready for action. Although not much can be said about the photos it is nice to know that Genisys didn’t completely kill off the entire franchise like many believed it did.
It seems like Tim Miller, James Cameron and all those working on the movie will be quiet on the details regarding the plot for Terminator 6. However, despite no actual details being revealed, the title for the sixth installment will possibly be titled, Terminator. It may be simple but fits as the primary reason for a Terminator 6 is to reboot the franchise.
Speaking of reboots, the new movie will serve as a direct sequel of Terminator 2: Judgment Day and will ignore the recent sequels from Rise of the Machines to Genisys. In addition, since he’s since had his heart surgery and is doing well Arnold Schwarzenegger will reprise his role as the T-800. Mackenzie Davis will be joining him and Linda Hamilton along with Natalia Reyes, Diego Boneta, and Gabriel Luna as the new Terminator.
The untitled Terminator 6 will be released in theaters on November 22nd, 2019.
