SPARX Features Presents: ‘Leading A Tribe’ A Chief Story
SPARX: It’s safe to say you’ve performed live in front of hundreds, if not thousands so far. How does Chief prepare for such a moment in his life?
I always meet up with my friends and just kind of chill. We smoke, talk about the night and our plans as well as practice! Even though I know my verses I always make sure to take a solo-dolo mission outside to go over them one more time. Also, a huge thing for me is that I have to be there early just in case!

SPARX: Is there a favorite concert/show you had the pleasure of performing at?
Honestly, our house shows are my favorite! Tons of friends, smoke friendly and interment. There’s no bullshit or politics just genuine good vibez.
SPARX: The start of 2017 you and the Tribe decided to release the self-titled ‘Tribe Chillin’ EP. Was that the true intentions or was there something else in mind. Also, how did you guys feel about the feedback from the EP?
We dropped the singles first because they had samples in them so we wanted to make sure that what we dropped on major streaming sites was all original music so we didn’t have to deal with any lawsuits! The feedback has been awesome I want to thank everyone who ordered it & everyone who has been supporting.
SPARX: Last month, Tribe Chillin delivered a message. A message that explains a lot of what you and the others want to accomplish. Tell us about the MV ‘World Is Mine’. What was the inspiration behind it?
We’ve been planning to shoot that video for awhile now and we knew we were going to Oregon so we thought what a perfect opportunity to do that, especially in new scenery.

SPARX: Mindful Matterz. What does it mean to you? How did it come about? What’s the goal for this label?
Mindful Practices have been a huge part of my journey and when I learned about them I knew they mattered deeply to me. When I decided to make my brand for audio engineering I knew I wanted to incorporate something with Mindful, after thinking about a bunch of things Mindful Matterz seemed to be the best fit. I feel being Mindful Matterz so why not brand myself that way!
SPARX: Your latest MV entitled ‘Cruz Thru’ is featured on the album. What message did you want to send?
I just wanted a fun video with the main theme of Dream Catcher & I cruising so the car stuff was perfect for that! Shout out to Pigg Beats for that beat!
Here’s a creative piece of Chief’s vision for one track in the upcoming album ‘MISCHIEF‘ entitled ‘Stanley Yelnats‘:
SPARX: ‘Mischief’ is the first album to be produced under the Mindful Matterz banner. How proud are you to see all this become reality and in your own words what is the album “Mischief”?
I am super proud of this one, it’s kind of the invert of Mindful Living, this is the new mischief I have been creating!
SPARX: Now we jump to something of a future question. How does Chief evolve from here? What’s the ultimate goal in front and behind the scenes?
I’ve learned it is best not to let them know your next move, I will continue to do what I do as I keep learning & making music but you can expect big things!
SPARX: We finally come to the end our interview. We hope you had fun with it as we did. Is there anything you want to say to your fan base and Tribe Chillin?
To our fans, friends & our families thank you for the continuous support & love you show, It means the most to us! To my brothers, I love you all & the world is ours, let’s continue to take it!
