You have to admit when Spider-Man first live-action film came out we were all happy to see Peter Parker get his screen time. However, the promise was short-lived as the momentum quickly spiraled out of control from Willem Dafoe‘s Green Goblin being maniacal to Topher Grace‘s lackluster Venom that didn’t feel like the vicious beast we all grew to love in the comics. So it was back to the drawing boards for Sony to would later reboot the franchise with a new story and new actor to portray the web-slinging hero. “The Amazing Spider-Man“ was the next shot to cement the franchise but after two films and due to various critical opinions from actor Andrew Garfield; portraying Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Sony would take their third swing at the franchise but this time Disney & Marvel along with Sony would agree Spider-Man would appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a new story and actor Tom Holland to portray a younger version of Peter Parker.
After debuting in the 2016 MCU film “Captain America: Civil War“, the fans’ long-awaited curiosity was partially fulfilled as they wanted a taste of how Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man would do in a standalone film.
