Jurassic World II: Dark & Scarier Than Ever!

Last year, Jurassic World shattered records as it touched on a new base of fans to explore the world of the Jurassic period and brought the nostalgic moments that many fans enjoyed 20 years ago. It’s only right that when you take in $652.2 million domestically and $1.67 billion worldwide that a sequel to Jurassic World was in the works. Colin Trevorrow hands over the director’s chair to J.A. Bayona. Jurassic World 2 will start production in Hawaii early next year, with Universal setting the release date on June 22, 2018.

During promotion for his upcoming film ‘A Monster Calls‘ he revealed that his sequel of Jurassic World will be “darker and scarier” than the original blockbuster. You can’t argue with the fact that they are trying to keep the franchise’s fear factor for the audience. Typically you wouldn’t be able to imagine how far this franchise could go to tell the one true plot of dinosaurs chasing humans.

Here’s wht J.A. Bayona had to say about Jurassic World 2 as well as tease a few examples of how sequels of trilogies gone to the dark side;

“It will be darker and scarier than the previous film. Obviously when you have Chris Pratt, it will also be very funny. But it will be darker. It is a second step in a trilogy, and the second step is always dark as in The Empire Strikes Back or the Wrath of Khan,’ which are the examples you always get. The film takes the story where it has never been before. To me, it surprised me. We are going to places where the saga has never been before, and at the same time we are paying tribute to the franchise. We will take it a step further. There are things that will happen that people are not expecting and they really are shocking.”

Aftermentioned Chris Pratt will be returning for the sequel along with Bryce Dallas Howard, but no further information about the cast have been confirmed yet. Althought the cast hasn’t been revealed there’s some details about the centralized theme being used. Colin Trevorrow who is now producing and co-writing the JW2 has shared this detail that the sequel will be related to animal abuse and medical experimentation, which brings you back to when one of the Raptor handlers wanted to weaponize the Raptor for personal wars being conducted in the future.

Hopefull we’ll get more details on Jurassic World 2 as we get closer to production until then don’t make any sudden moves. They can’t sense if you don’t move.

‘Jurassic World 2’ hits theaters in June 22, 2018.
