Disney’s Mulan (2018): Live-Action Adaptation

In recent years, Disney has been making great success with their classic animated films receiving the live-action treatment. It seems that last, March the developing has begun for their 1998 animated hit Mulan. This is the latest live-action film follows in the footsteps of Maleficent, Cinderella, and The Jungle Book. All of which have been big box office successes for the studio that create the magic for its audience. The studio’s next release ‘Beauty and the Beast‘ on March 17th, 2017, which features an all-star cast including Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Ewan McGregor, and Ian McKellen.
It’s being reported that the film will be a 3D live-action remake with the studio setting a November 2nd, 2018 release date. Along with the 2018 release date are other movies that will keep moviegoers entertained, Universal’s ‘Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas’, November 9th, 2018 & Warner Bros.’ ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them‘ on November 16th, 2018.
The original Mulan was centered on the title character, voice by Ming-Na Wen. Mulan was disguised as a man to take her ailing father’s place on the battlefield. Mushu (Eddie Murphy) was the sidekick sent to help the one who would honor the family name of Mulan. In the end, Mulan became a brave warrior & honored heroines earning the respect and forgiveness of those she deceived. Disney is on a global casting search for a Chinese actress to play Mulan, whoever it may be will be an instant star. Although there’s no official shooting schedule yet being confirmed the studio will likely start production late next year.
‘Mulan‘ will be released in theaters on November 2nd, 2018.
