X-Men ‘Apocalypse’: The Four Horsemen Are Here!

We’ve already got one major comic book blockbuster behind us with the divisive Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in theaters now. The next one on our list is Captain America: Civil War, but a few weeks after that 20th Century Fox brings the mutants back to the big screen with X-Men: Apocalypse. A new featurette for the film has surfaced focusing on the Four Horseman, the quartet of mutants that the titular villain puts under his control to help destroy the world.

SynopsisFollowing the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

There aren’t any big revelations about the story in this featurette, but it does have some talking heads from two of the horsemen, Michael Fassbender as Magneto and Olivia Munn as Psylocke, as well as director Bryan Singer. The other two recruited mutants are Alexandra Shipp as Storm and Ben Hardy as Angel, and we get to see some quick new shots of all of them in the video. But most of the footage is from the previous trailers that have been released.

The rest of the X-Men: Apocalypse cast includes James McAvoy as Professor X, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Lucas Till as Havok, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler, Lana Condor as Jubilee, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert and Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse. Hugh Jackman will also appear as Wolverine but apparently won’t have a major role in the sequel.

Here’s the featurette (via JoBlo):
