“Gambling With Fate” Featuring: Tribe Chillin | Presented by: SPARX Entertainment©

J. Johnson: “I think of myself as a musician before I was an artist. Artistry goes beyond music. You have to visualize the world you want to present to people as an artist, whether it’s videos, pictures or even what you’re saying.” -Wave. It seems like through the recent year you’ve been exploring a lot. Is that still the case now, especially since you’ve been producing beats a lot more?

Wave: I see my music as constantly growing and progressing, if I’m not moving forward, I’m moving backwards. This year, I’m building off of small wins and continuing to make moves to expand myself as an artist, so more videos, solo music, merch and more. My production has been pretty consistent, I think more people are starting to realize my style when they hear something I produce, and that’s a beautiful thing. More people are coming to me looking for beats, I can say that’s something I’ve wanted from the start.

J. Johnson: FOXYMMLZ! Tell us about this project. Is a mainstay next to The Tribe?

Wave: Yes! My partner in crime in Foxymmlz has been my best friend for many years. Richie Rizo is an artist of many mediums, a great creative mind and someone I can always look to for inspiration. We look to bring a different experience at a Foxymmlz show, than at a Tribe show. Our music is different, a lot more vibey instrumental portions / beat changes / the lyrical content is different. Foxymmlz is like an ever-growing art project for him and I.

J. Johnson: Most recently, it doesn’t seem like The Tribe is performing as much. Each one of the members are working on projects and pushing a dream that I can only assume will bring you back together. Can you elaborate on (if this is true) what you all have been up to as of late individually?

Cloud: I have been dealing with a few issues away from the music, and thankfully i’ve figured it out and I’m able to put my all into my own project releasing sometime this year. I’m also looking forward to taking our time and working hard on another tribe project.

Chief: We’ve still been performing and stuff but we all have dedicated time to our own projects as well as a new tribe one!

Dreamcatcher: Yes we may have been off to a slow steady start performance wise, but we are working on lining up some good shows for 2016. As of right now we’re all keeping busy with our own individual projects, so 2016 will be a year where each individual Tribe member will get the spotlight, and the listeners will really get to explore what makes each of us so unique and different. We’re also working on the next Tribe album and I’m very excited to finish that up!

Wave: I think performing as individuals is something that was always in the cards for the Tribe. At the base level, we are each very different people, we have different points of view. I think it’s healthy for us each to do our own thing, and when we do come together and make music as we always have, it makes the songs even better.

J. Johnson: 2015 honestly from our perspective was an amazing year for The Tribe no matter how you look at it. We already got a preview of how it will with January over. What will the rest of 2016 look like or what do you see 2016, looking like?

Chief: We plan to make it a huge year! We have tons of stuff in store and can’t wait, a lot of music will be dropped and a lot of things will be done make sure to keep an eye out, it will be a big year

Wave: 2016 we will continue to grow as always, musically, as well as just being better people and trying to maintain a positive attitude. This year I think we’re going to drop a lot more music than last year as far as the tribe, and us individually. Bigger and better things, maybe coming to a city near you.

Cloud: I see a lot of big moves made from all of us. You can expect new music from the tribe, but you can also be ready to see a few single projects from us as well.

Dreamcatcher: I’m excited for what 2016 has to offer. I’m confident that it will be our most productive year and an opportunity to expand and open new doors for the Tribe.

We end again with saying thank you for giving us another opportunity to be invited into The Tribe. We’ve always seen you guys apart of the family in SPARX. It’s amazing to see how much progression you all made. Are there any last minute things you want to say those the fans that have supported you?

We’d all like to thank everyone who’s ever listened to a track, came to a show or bought our merch. We owe you everything, and we’re going to continue to work hard on our pursuits of bigger and better things.
