Mortal Kombat X – All The Rain In The World Can Turn Into Smoke & Help Ease My Sweet Tooth
NetherRealm Studios is starting to toss fans some breadcrumbs on what they can expect for “Mortal Kombat X,” starting with the content coming with the Kombat Pass. The title will be launching with the pass, and MP1st has managed to get some more details of what that will include.
The confirmation comes from executive producer Shaun Himmerick, who said that the pass will include four characters and five skin packs, the latter of which will total to 15 skins all in all. From what has been seen with the studio’s fighting game styles, the source states that three of those may be from the fan-faved roster while a guest character will complete the set.
As far as the guest character is concerned, NetherRealm Studios creative head Ed Boon has taken to hisTwitter page with very vague teases. By vague, this means a photo of Red Velvet Oreos, alongside a caption mentioning “SWEET TOOTH,” all in uppercase letters. GameRant highlights in its report that Sweet Tooth has been seen in almost all the materials for “Twisted Metal.” The character has also been seen in a couple of Sony titles.

For a more definitive yet still a bit vague hint, Boon has tweeted, “Yes! It put a Tremor on my RAINy day and cleared away all the smoke.”
Considering the three keywords in his message, Smoke, Rain and Tremor, fans have responded with glee. Others are more confident that the message is basically a confirmation of what’s to come in the “Mortal Kombat X” roster. Interestingly, YouTube user Loves Smash has compiled a few more hints pointing to the three recently teased additional characters, as seen in the video below.
Previously, a couple of the cryptic Boon tweets referred to Rain in many ways, the most playful of which was a tweet pointing to Prince’s Purple Rain album. Boon has said in another interview that Rain isn’t joining the roster as a DLC character. But Loves Smash makes a good point in stating that Rain may not be joining as DLC addition, but there’s still a chance that he could be part of the main roster.
The video below gives a very detailed rundown of all the hints that has come from Boon so far via his tweets. If the speculations and hints are to be believed, then fans who are waiting for Smoke, Tremor and Rain to be part of “Mortal Kombat X” may be looking at satisfaction guaranteed with the upcoming brawler.

As if to support the new finding on Rain, IGN also reports of new characters expected to come in the game. With the latest revelation of the Living Towers mode, the source reported on seeing hints of Rain alongside Cyrax and Jade. These hints are pretty much unconfirmed in the meantime, not unless Boon’s hints about Rain are to be taken as official.
For the other characters, IGN has spotted a YouTube that references Jax and Sonya in the game. The latter character has been hinted previously in another “Mortal Kombat X” mode.
