‘UNCENSORED’ – Featuring: JackEL Presented by: Sparx Entertainment
Q: What was the first song that you ever produced? How did it make you feel?
I remember attempting to produce music on Fruity Loops when I was thirteen, and I didn’t really understand it. It was sort of like some music video games that I’ve played on the computer where you compile melodies together until you have a couple different instrument channels and it makes a track. I remember I had a bunch of 30 second ideas, but not a full song. The full song I ever created was on Ableton, and my friends thought it sounded like Mario. I remember after I finished making it I was so energized and convinced I was going to become famous I called all my friends and probably went for a run.
Q: What made you first realize you wanted to pursue a career in music?
I think that I wouldn’t even refer music as my career, as I would refer music as a lifestyle. I don’t really consider music to be my job at all. I really just have a blast every day making music and coming up with original songs, and getting paid for it is just a fantastic bonus that I’m supper thankful for.
Q: How did you become involved in the type of music you produce now?
As of right now, I am working on tons of different projects that range from Pop to Trap. Some radio friendly dance tracks, to dirty grime rap music. I have fun working on whatever comes my way in the studio. I may not know a ton about that genre, but that’s the fun of it. I do a bit of research and ask hear what I’m about to start creating and then just start and see where it takes me! A lot of my close friends are the people I record in my studio though.
Q: If you had to describe your music in three or four words, what would you call it?
The Sound Of Tomorrow
Q: What are you songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)
It’s always different; I usually try to build off the vibes of the rappers coming in. When I make music it depends on where I am, and what’s going on in my life during those times. I made a song in Korea called Seoul, and when I hear it I’m back in Korea.
Q: As an artist, how would you define SUCCESS?
I’ve read so many detentions before; I’m a pretty happy person so I really don’t need a lot to consider myself successful. I think success is just winning and doing a good job on something. I succeed every time an artist leaves my studio with an amazing quality track they we are both happy on.
Q: Do you prefer originality over conformity, even if it won’t make you as much money?
I think that it’s a lot more fun to make beats that are totally random. I sometimes make beats from cat videos I see on YouTube. Or if I watch a scary movie I’ll make a scary beat. I let people decide what the genre is and where to place it, and I just create it.
Q: When did you know you wanted to be a producer?
I think I started becoming a producer when I was 12 and would write guitar tabs and drum tabs and vocals for me and my friends to play in my basement. Sometimes the musicians would mess up, and I would have to hop on and show them how to play there instrument. That grew into creating all channels on my own as a producer and a beat maker. I knew from an early age.
Q: Was there a song or artist in particular that inspired you to be a producer?
There’s tons of musicians and artists that have inspired me to become an artist, guitar players, bass players, singers, and drummers. I have always been inspired by good music. So I think music inspired me to become a musician/producer because It was something I loved and enjoyed so much.
Q: What is your wildest story that ever happen?
Just last couple months a hip hop collective in Las Vegas I am in Bonafide Mob went on tour, and had a show in Idaho with Tyga. That concert was insane! Not the craziest story, but the most recent.
Q: What is the weirdest event you ever Dj’d?
I’ve DJ’d so many weird events to count. Adult Entertainment Award shows, Hair Salon grand openings, I’ve done a lot of grand openings. I have done some cool parties and have been some nice people. But there sometimes strange!
Q: Thinking back to the very beginning of your career, how do you feel about your performance today and it is much different for you now when you first started?
When I first started, I was only playing EDM Bangers in the clubs, now I play pretty much everything, reggae and trap and EDM. Whatever the crowd is feeling.
Q: What do you think makes you and your type of music unique from other artists?
I have yet to really find ONE sound I love! I know I love melody, but all genres have some sort of melody. I love creating all types of music, and I really believe I’ll be able to continue doing that. I think the diversity is what will differentiate me and other artists.
Q: How do you think you would like to be remembered by everyone if something were to happen to you suddenly?
For my music. That’s honestly why I make music, because I like to capture times and moments in songs that bring emotion and memories. I know that once I am gone, my music will still be here for people to listen to. There lots of secrets and music, and btw the time I’m gone I hope people know a lot about me from my music.
Q: As an artist, is there anything special you hope to be able to accomplish?
I have lots of goals as an artist and really hope to be making an impact of my music in many ways. I want my music to be heard be all generations and especially played by the younger kids and new generation.
I can’t wait for many things to come in the future, and I’m more excited to see where the future of music goes.
