Sony Planning A Crazy Crossover!!!

Sony Pictures is in the throes of mashing up its Jump Street and Men in Black franchises to create a new movie starring the leads of 21 and 22 Jump Street, the Wall Street Journal reports.

According to Sony emails leaked on the Internet by hackers, the movie will likely hit in  2016 or 2017 and not feature Men in Black leads Tommy Lee Jones nor Will Smith. Instead, the movie will have Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, the stars of the Jump Street movies, taking over the franchise. The movie will likely be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who directed both Jump Street films.

Hill called the merging of franchises “clean and rad and powerful” in one of the leaked emails.

Having the two take on the role of agents hunting down illegal otherworldly aliens is a leap that even the end of 22 Jump Street didn’t predict.

In 21 Jump Street, based on the 80s television show of the same name, Hill and Tatum become undercover high school police officers. In 22 Jump Street, they work undercover in college. At the end of that movie, the film pokes fun at the concept of never ending undercover sequels while still managing not to hit the nail on the Men in Black head.

The credit scenes show the two in a slew of increasingly bizarre settings including medical school, school at sea, art school, culinary school, veterinary school, Sunday school, flight academy, ninja academy, fire school, traffic school, military school, dance academy, magic school, retirement home, beauty school and mariachi school.

The closest the end credit montage gets to this deal was 2121 Jump Street, which featured a shot of Tatum in a space suit.
