The Mortal Instruments Is Becoming A TV Series
“The Mortal Instruments” is becoming a TV series according today, Oct. 12 by the Hollywood Reporter and Just Jared Jr. Constantin Film, which owns the rights to Cassandra Clare’s YA urban fantasy book series is making it into a TV series. When Constantin produced the film version of Clare’s book, “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones,” it didn’t do great at the box-office, so it’s no wonder why the company is deciding to try it out as a TV series. The six book series is quite popular.
While no broadcast partners are yet attached to the project, Constantin has hired Ed Dexter, who produced and wrote such shows as “Helix,” “In Plain Sight,” and “The Client List,” also Constantin is planning to begin production next year. So while they shelved the idea of a film franchise at the moment, since the first one only made $31 million domestically, Constantin decided that a TV Show would help expand the series and could go deeper into the story. It’ll be interesting to see who will be in the cast and what station “The Mortal Instruments” will be on.
“The Mortal Instruments” is a six book series that was written by Cassandra Clare. The first book that was published was in 2007, it was called “City of Bones.” The last book to be published came out last summer in May, it was called “City of Heavenly Fire.” Since its release the book series has had a big following.
