WWE: Randy Orton’s New Contractual Agreements

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton just signed a new deal with the WWE. In some surprising news, Orton’s new deal indicates that he will no longer work a full-time schedule with the WWE. This is nothing like the Brock Lesnar deal, though, and just means that Orton won’t tour on the road as much with the WWE. According to PWS on Friday, the new Randy Orton WWE contract means that he won’t have to work all the weekend house shows.

The new WWE deal is effective immediately and means that Randy Orton will only work the first week of the European Tour in November. During that first week, Orton will main event the shows against Dean Ambrose. The new deal means that Orton will not travel full time with the WWE and only work a limited basis on house shows. He will still work full time when it comes to television shows.

This really isn’t anything unique and is something that a lot of older stars do in order to remain fresh for televised appearances. While Orton is only 34, and has quite a few years left in his body, working less house shows will help extend his already impressive career. Orton debuted in the WWE at the age of 19 and became the youngest ever WWE world champion at the age of 24. Since that time, Orton is a 12-time world champion.

The WWE rumors indicate that Randy Orton will turn face at the start of 2015. The thought process is that Orton will tire of the fact that Seth Rollins is the new golden boy for The Authority and take matters into his own hands. A feud with Seth Rollins could lead into “Wrestlemania 31.” For now, Randy Orton will continue to have a major presence on WWE television, so the news that he is working only a limited schedule will not affect most fans.
