Ronda Rousey vs. Ray Rice?
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women’s bantamweight titleholder respects herself — and believes other women should do the same — a message she delivered after news broke that NFL running back Ray Rice was videotaped knocking out his then-fiance (and now-wife) Janay Palmer inside an Atlantic City casino.
“Every person has the right to be able to defend themselves,” Rousey told TMZ Sports. “Everybody should try, regardless of the situation.” And if she was in the elevator with Rice? “It would have been different. Much, much different.”
After all, Rousey has tooled men her own size in training camp — and some as even big as middleweight — so it’s not preposterous to think she could have defended herself long enough to get help, assuming she was not sucker punched or bum rushed from behind.
