You can make the world listen to everything you say if it’s convincing enough for them to hear. Talk in bullet points, a speech, or a excerpt can garnish some attention, but when the soothing melody of a voice can sing a fixture of words it can move millions to wanna hear more.
Getting his first recognition with Maddie in the hip-hop group Jinusean’s music video “A-yo”. Taeyang began training under YG Entertainment at the age of 12 alongside fellow member and leader G-Dragon. After six years of vocal and dance training, he made his debut in 2006 as a member of popular Korean boy band, Big Bang,as main dancer of the same group. Leading to success in his audition Taeyang would eventually move on with G-Dragon with former trainee Jun K. (now a member of 2PM) later to be coined as GDYB.
In 2003, the plan was scrapped by their record label. Instead, they were joined by four other trainees (T.O.P., Daesung, Seungri, and Hyun Seung) to form the group Big Bang. The group’s formation was documented on television as a documentary. Before their official debut, however, Hyun Seung was dropped and their final lineup consisted of five members. He then, choose the stage-name Taeyang (Korean: 태양, meaning sun), Taeyang abandoned the idea of rapping to focus on singing.
On the heels of success the group; Big Bang would gain mainstream success with some singles like “Lies” in 2007 that topped charts upon release, “Last Farewell” and Day by Day” both topped the charts on release from the albums, Hot Issue and Stand Up respectively. As his ‘Big Rise’ continued, Taeyang would release his first full length album Solar only be charted the number two spot on iTunes Top R&B-Soul albums chart in the United States and number-one in Canada’s, making him the first Asian musician to do so. Taeyang won the “Best Male Artist” award at the 2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards at the end of the year and the Seoul Music Awards Best Male Artist award.
In the peak of his career the extraordinary singer of South Korea would only prove that his dominance atop the entertainment industry would hold true. During 2013 and 2014, Taeyang’s album ‘Rise’ would chart at number 1 yet again. Despite telling what is still known for the future of the young lionheart, one thing is certain Taeyang is only rising to the top with the radiant smile, spellbinding vocals, and moves that even the “King of Pop” would’ve loved to see. Taeyang’s career has made his life come to a head with success that can only be described as a big bang.
