Finally… Kingdom Hearts III is moving in the right direction.
There’s been a lot of speculation for the last two years as the people over at Square Enix and Disney have kept a complete tight lip about what’s going to be in Kingdom Hearts III. Many fans had grown accustomed to the fact that the game would be prolonged and provided with little to no information. However, many figured the game was in serious development with Square Enix working on Final Fantasy XV and working to make Kingdom Hearts III a great title for the new-gen consoles.
Today, during the Disney D23 Expo event, Kingdom Hearts’ next title has finally got a debut date for 2018 and will include Pixar characters for the first time in the history of the video game franchise. It’s only natural given Disney owning Pixar so the push to add a new dynamic than, retelling the stories of the existing Disney classics could further the journey of Kingdom Hearts as a whole. With the team deciding to add Pixar characters we got the reveal of a ‘Big Hero 6’ world being added along with a world surrounding the movie ‘Tangled’.
Another exciting piece of news that popped big today is the involvement of Toy Story becoming a new world in the upcoming title. The adventures of Woody and Buzz Lightyear will cross paths with the Keyblader, Sora and his Disney pals Donald and Goofy. The gameplay and the reveal are all wrapped in a great trailer that highlights the new forms, content, and action that’s coming next year. Check it out below:
