Even with you joining Sights & Sounds, does your creative mind have the final say in the matter of its message?

“I’m very thankful to be able to be as creative as I want. I seriously am not limited to a certain sound of style. If I want to create an Acid Jazz/Hip Hop Instrumental EP then I can! And am (Breathe Easy EP Coming Soon). I actually enjoy having more deadlines and jobs that need to be done. It pushes me to work faster and harder.“

Now that you’re fully supported by management, it seems like you have a few projects coming out:

-Your first EP featuring Skip Martin (we will definitely be on the lookout for that)

-Released a track with G!NJUUZ entitled ‘KREEM’

-You’re Dj’ing the AVN Awards Pre-Party

I’m sure there’s a lot more coming in the next few months, but is this the year for #TeamJackEL?

“This year is definitely going to be the best year I’ve ever had in my career. Last Year I officially released my Single “Crazy Ft. Raskronik”  and this year I have big plans. I am starting off the year by releasing my First EP, Breathe Easy Ft. ‘Grammy Winning’ Skip Martin. Then I have Kreem coming out with G!NJUUZ , Who Runs The Trap ft. Zaza & SILAS, A 3 Track EP with Vlad Lux, a JackELD Phoenix EP & a Nikki phoenix EP that I am fully producing with her, ALL coming out in the First Quarter of this year. Those are just the songs coming out not to mention the gigs. I am thankful to be DJing the AVN Convention at the Hard Rock Café in Las Vegas with Nikki Phoenix (as JACKELD PHOENIX) and then DJing the After Party as well! If people don’t know about me yet, Wait a couple months and I’m sure they will.”

You’ve made in the club of reaching an award winning GRAMMY-winning lead vocalist and trumpeter; Skip Martin. Describe the experience working with such a talented individual from an era that many feels were one of the greatest eras.

“To me, at the end of the day, it’s all about the music and always has been. I live and breathe for the music. So when I have the opportunity to work and a Great Project with a Great Experienced Musician, I get so inspired and work so fast and energetically. It came very naturally actually. We were in the studio working on the Two Heats sessions and we were taking a break. I was scrolling through the beats I had on my Soundcloud beat page and one of the Skip really liked (Titled ‘Breathe Easy’). I always knew that beat was legendary. He had his trumpet on him when he heard it and just went in the recording booth and recorded a couple tracks over it no questions asked. We then parted ways and we really didn’t do anything about it for a couple months. I went back to the studio and grabbed his recorded sessions when I was ready and remixed them to fit the best on the Breathe Easy EP. It sounded so good that I went through my other old beats to see if I had any more for him. I had 5 beats with trumpet samples/melodies and thought ‘why not get him to record his real playing over them’. He was all for it and, therefore, Breathe Easy was born.
