With the recent broken nose that he suffered on RAW, will John Cena be able to take part in WWE SummerSlam in a few weeks?
his past Monday night on WWE RAW, we saw one of the more gruesome live TV injuries in quite some time. John Cena was wrestling Seth Rollins in the main event for the US title, when he caught quite the knee to the face from the champ. That knee to the face ended up giving him a severely broken nose that we all saw live.
Now, of course, people have been asking the question in recent days as to what this means for his status at SummerSlam. As we saw, the company was potentially building towards a match between these two at SummerSlam for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. So, is that in jeopardy.
Well aside from seeing the broken nose play out live, we also learned this week that Cena had to undergo emergency surgery on Tuesday. Apparently, as is commonly the case with broken noses, he was having some issues with his breathing and that needed to be corrected as soon as possible. The reports coming from that surgery say that Cena could miss up to a few weeks, so his status for SummerSlam is certainly up in the air.
To that point, Cena has already begun being pulled from upcoming live events.
But, one thing that we all need to remember is that this is John Cena we’re talking about. We’ve seen him come back miraculously from some injuries in the past, so we won’t truly know until August 23 rolls around in Brooklyn.
