Hyrule Warriors (3DS) Coming Soon!

It’s almost the most wonderful week of the year in the eyes of many dedicated gamers, as E3 2015 is just around the corner. With it will come a number of blockbuster gaming announcements, and no short part of them will be arriving from the likes of the Japanese gaming giant Nintendo. One Hyrule Warriors-related surprise has been spoiled, however, and it has come from none other than the very partner company that the Big N is collaborating with.

Accidentally posting a video of the game in action on YouTube, Tecmo-Koei prematurely revealed that it is working on a port of Hyrule Warriors for the Nintendo 3DS. The video has since been taken down, but it’s evident that the cat is already out of the bag.

Many will already know that the Wii U version of the game has done pretty well for both Nintendo and Tecmo-Koei, which lead to speculation that a crossover between Mario or Pokemon and Dynasty Warriors could be in the cards. What fans likely never expected was that the original game would be going portable so soon – with additional content to boot.

Hyrule Warriors for 3DS appears to feature the same cast of characters that occupied the Wii U version of the game, but it’ll also be adding two brand new fighters to the character-filled chaos. Originating from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, these two new combatants are none other than Tetra and the King of Red Lions. the latter of which appears largely in his human form rather than that of the cutesy red ship – although his ship form does surface during attacks.

Implementing these newcomers may be enough to spark the interest of those that already own Hyrule Warriors for their Nintendo home console to buy it again. The Big N wants to do just that with the new title too, as those that pickup both versions of the game will be able to transfer the aforementioned Tetra and the King of Red Lions over to the Wii U installment as well – at which point they can then be played in a higher resolution.

The game looks to run almost identically to its console counterpart, and (despite featuring a ton of baddies on-screen at once) it doesn’t require the enhanced CPU of the New Nintendo 3DS to run it. Instead of taking the Xenoblade Chronicles 3Droute, it appears that, for the time being, this game will be available across all existing 3DS hardware.

More details on the game are sure to surface during the Nintendo Digital Event, which is currently scheduled to air on June 16, 2015 at 9 a.m. PST, so stay tuned to Game Rant for more news about Hyrule Warriors on 3DS.
