Five Expected Announcements For E3 2015

Every June the gaming industry converges upon Los Angeles, CA for the spectacle that is the Electronic Entertainment Expo, otherwise known as E3. There have been many, many memorable moments to happen over the course of the event’s history, and we expect E3 2015 to add to its legacy.

E3 2015 will be the home of several new press conferences, which is contrary to what has happened in year’s past. On Tuesday, June 16, Square Enix will host a press conference of their own, while Bethesda will host their first-ever press conference on Sunday, June 14.

In addition to these press conferences are the traditional ones we’ve come to expect. Microsoft typically starts off E3 the Monday before it starts, followed by EA, then Ubisoft and Sony to finish off the day. Nintendo has been a bit different in how they’ve approached their E3 press conference over the past few years, but when they’ve held a formal presser, it has been on the morning of Tuesday, the day the show begins.

With a total of seven press conferences expected for this year’s E3, there are a variety of major announcements that will be coming. E3 2015 will bring some spectacular memories and here are some of the ones we believe will happen.

New 'Fallout' revealed

New ‘Fallout’

To this day, Bethesda Softworks has never hosted an E3 press conference, but that will no longer be true after Sunday, June 14, 2015. As soon as the company announced it would be hosting a briefing, the Internet was lit on fire with rumors of a new Fallout being revealed at the event.

E3 has been home to some of the most memorable moments in gaming history and it seems as though Bethesda could be delivering our next one. We fully expect some major announcements from Bethesda at their E3 2015 press conference, and among the news should be the confirmation of a new Fallout, arriving this coming Fall.

New ‘Mass Effect’

Switching gears to the Electronic Arts (EA) side of gaming, they are approaching E3 2015 with a world of momentum on their side. The recent reveal of Star Wars Battlefront electrified the industry and raised anticipation for the game even higher.

EA has recently embraced a new strategy with how they talk about their games. Being more open and forthcoming about what is in development has been the name of EA’s E3 game the past few years. This is something we fully expect to continue at E3 2015, and it will continue in the form of a teaser for the next Mass Effect, which won’t launch before 2016.

New 'Watch Dogs' announced

New ‘Watch Dogs’

Over the past few years, Ubisoft has established a sterling reputation for the most exciting game reveals. Back in 2012,Watch Dogs was the talk of E3 and then Tom Clancy’s The Division came along at E3 2013 and captured the imaginations of everyone. Last year, we saw the stunning reveal of Rainbow Six: Siege, so all of this begs the question: What will be Ubisoft’s big reveal for E3 2015?

Heading into the show, Ubisoft has officially announced Tom Clancy’s The Division and Rainbow Six: Siege. With the publisher releasing four AAA games last fall, we expect a few more announcements from the firm at E3 2015. A new Assassin’s Creed could be revealed, and we believe the same will be said for the next iteration of Watch Dogs.

‘Gears of War’

Microsoft has had some stellar moments over the past few years at E3, with a slew of major announcements capping off their E3 2014 press conference. This year, we expect to see more from upcoming Xbox One titles such as: Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza 6 and plenty of others.

Black Tusk Studios has been developing the next iteration in the Gears of War franchise, but we have yet to hear much about it since Microsoft confirmed the studio would handle its development. Similar to the next Mass Effect, we expect a teaser trailer from the next Gears of War, which will in all likelihood be a 2016 game at the earliest.

'Uncharted 4' release date

Earlier this year, many fans were disappointed when they heard about the delay to the highly anticipated game Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Originally set to debut this coming Fall, Uncharted 4 marks the next chapter in the extremely popular franchise.

While Sony’s presence at E3 has changed over the past few years and its Gamescom presence has continued to grow, the firm still brings a powerful showing to E3. We expect them to bring some more Uncharted 4 gameplay and a specific Spring 2016 release date as well.
