Jurassic World: Evacuate The Island

In little more than two months, Steven Spielberg’s dino-action franchise Jurassic Park will be revived in the form of Colin Trevorrow’s (Safety Not Guaranteed) Jurassic World. The new film will pick up 20 years after Jurassic Park III, and feature a fully operational theme park with live dinosaurs. However, unlike the previous trilogy,Jurassic World will also introduce a man-made hybrid dino called the Indominus Rex.

After not appearing in the initial Jurassic World trailer – which received a mixed reaction – the Indominus Rex made its debut in the film’s Super Bowl spot. Now that it’s been established the Indominus Rex hunts for sport, a new TV spot forJurassic World shows the mayhem it causes on Isla Nublar.

The new spot (above) debuted alongside the season 5 finale of The Walking Dead – which also featured other exclusive promos, such as a first look at Fear the Walking Dead. Though the new Jurassic World spot is essentially a shortened version of the film’s Super Bowl trailer, it does offer a new look at some of the carnage caused by the Indominus Rex.

Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy), Bryce Dallas Howard (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2), Nick Robinson (The Kings of Summer), Ty Simpkins (Iron Man 3), and Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil). Spielberg returned to executive produce Jurassic World from a script written by Trevorrow and his Safety Not Guaranteed collaborator, Derek Connolly.

Jurassic World TV Spot Indominus Rex New Jurassic World TV Spot: Evacuate the Island

Like the Tyrannosaurus Rex and the raptors of Spielberg’s Jurassic Park, the Indominus Rex has been set up as the monster terrorizing the inhabitants of Isla Nublar this time around. Updated for a modern audience,, the I-Rex represents a slightly different ideology than the dinosaurs of the 90s because it is man-made by the scientists of Masrani Global.

Whether the Indominus Rex lives up to the T-Rex and raptors in terms of offering an interesting and imposing antagonist to the humans of Jurassic World remains to be seen. However, this new TV spot – in addition to the previous trailers – paints the picture of a highly-intelligent, incredibly dangerous dino. Perhaps that is enough to intrigue and entertain Jurassic World viewers.

Jurassic World hits theaters June 12th, 2015.
