Dragon Ball Xenoverse backtracks to famous battles from the series via the custom avatar who becomes an ally with Trunks and a number of other characters. The alliance will be put to a test as to whether it has the strength to intervene in the battles and restore the Dragon Ball timeline.
With Dragon Ball Xenoverse driven to focus more on the events in Dragon Ball Z and some of GT the original series Dragon Ball isn’t going to be featured in the game.
J-Patrol had a chance to interview Tony who is the Community Manager at Bandai Namco Games Europe. He was kind enough to answer several questions from fans about Dragon Ball Xenoverse.
One of the biggest revelations about Dragon Ball Xenoverse is that the original Dragon Ball series will not be featured in the game at all. Tony said that there will be no characters or even stages from the original Dragon Ball series.
The main story of Dragon Ball Xenoverse mostly focuses on events from the Dragon Ball Z timeline. Even the events from the recent movie “Battle of Gods” is added too.
New features of the game include the customer avatar, new location, new characters and the master system.
As to the custom avatar, players can make their personal Dragon Ball character and take its place in the world of Dragon Ball. The gamer can simply choose Earthling, Maijin, Saiyan, Namekian or Freiza Clansman and begin to fight.
The game’s new location is the once dormant clock that has begun to tick again in the futuristic and baffling Toki Toki City.
The new characters on the other hand include Mira, an android trying to become the strongest creature in the universe and Towa, a dark scientist emerging from a demonic world. It also includes a deity who appeared 75,000,000 years ago known as the supreme Kai of Time along with her companion bird Tokitoki, a very powerful life form that can create time.
The player can opt for an original Dragon Ball character as a master to train under in the game’s Master System. The skill set and training exercises of the gamer’s avatar will depend on the Master chosen who may also appear all of the sudden in the battle for help.
The Dragon Ball Xenoverse release date is expected to hit the US in February 17, 2015.
