Tremor is the next character offered in Mortal Kombat X, appearing for the first time in the series as a fully playable fighter. See him in ground-pounding action in this official trailer released today.
His last appearance was in the Challenge Tower stage of Mortal Kombat in 2011 (on PlayStation Vita.) “Pulverizing” would appear to be as good a word as any for Tremor, especially when his hands turn into hammers and he does that thing with Scorpion’s head that the Ewoks did with logs to the AT-ST.
As many fighting game fans will attest, Mortal Kombat X is without a doubt one of the grimmest, bloodiest, and most addictive titles on the market. With its intuitive controls and fast-paced action, almost any player can pick the title up on the fly, and find themselves spending an entire weekend bringing the pain. On top of all that, NetherRealm Studios has been keeping Mortal Kombat X stocked with fresh content and new characters to master, with the recent release of Predator being most notable.
Since NetherRealm Studios has been overhauling MKX with more updates and DLC than one could shake a stick at, many have been speculating which fighters of the franchise’s past might become a part of the roster. So far, Tanya’s inclusion to the game has been the only instance of a klassic character joining the vicious tournament via DLC, but now, thanks to new screenshots of the fighter’s fatalities and brutalities, it’s been confirmed that the fan-favorite Tremor will officially be added to the cast of Mortal Kombat X.
A while back, the only hint leading us to the presumption of his addition was an image of Tremor’s character render, but as we all know, certain aspects of games and their DLC can sometimes get dropped or changed during the development phases. However, the gruesome shots below definitely confirm that NetherRealm Studios has been done more than simple preliminary work.

As one could expect, all of Tremor’s finishers are rock-related, with one brutality called “Krystal Khaos” causing him to glow green and solidify his opponent into geode-like material just so he can obliterate them into tiny bits of rubble, while another entitled “Rock Head” seemingly does just what the name implies, as a boulder crushes a rival’s skull. The fatalaties are a little bit more imaginative and elaborate, as Tremor’s first one called “Stone Tomb” smashes enemies in between two giant obelisks, and “Stalag-Might” turns his hands into rock-based hammers to ostensibly batter adversaries to death.
Here’s how access to Tremor works: Those who purchased the $29.99 “Kombat Pack” of all-you-can-eat DLC get first crack at him on Tuesday. Non-Kombat Pack holders may buy him a la carte beginning July 28. The Klassic Skins Pack No. 2 also is available on the same dates.
